As wonderful as tablets like the iPad are for kid-friendly content, it can be difficult to protect kids’ privacy from app developers or ensure that the material they’re viewing is age-appropriate on media platforms like YouTube.
Yoto aims to take advantage of modern technology like connectivity and dynamic content, but pares it down to a manageable level without the worry over privacy or inappropriate material. It’s an internet-capable player that foregoes screens, microphones, and cameras. There’s no risk of someone hijacking the device and using it to advertise Baby Yoda dolls to them ten seconds after they’ve said, “boy, I sure do want one of those Baby Yoda dolls.”
