Cactus Plant Flea Market and McDonald’s Team Up To Repackage The Happy Meal (But For Adults Only)

McDonald’s Happy Meals have delighted young folks for over 40 years. Eventually, most adults, save for obsessed toy collectors and resellers, retire the kids’ meal from the rotation and opt for more substantial, grown-up fare.

The burger giant knows how fondly you remember those trips to the Golden Arches as a child for a Happy Meal and has teamed up with streetwear brand Cactus Plant Flea Market(CPFM) to create a version of the boxed kids’ staple for adults.

Cactus Plant Flea Market Box’s design is absent of princesses and pokemón; instead, the boxes feature Grimace and a new character, Cactus Buddy!, in front of a McDonald’s in CPFM’s signature style that’s both psychedelic and irreverent, even to its corporate partner. Major brand elements such as the McDonald’s sign and McDonaldland characters also get the CPFM treatment. Most major brands would not sign off on altering their fiercely guarded intellectual property as much as in this collab, so it’s refreshing to see McDonald’s give CPFM that creative liberty.
